I don't understand that process completely. I saw a show about how a woman couldn't have children so she forced her husband to agree to a surrogant and to agree to using a donated embryo.
The problem was her husband didn't want anything to do with the little girl and she refused to adopt the child because she wanted child support from him, the surrogant mother wanted custody.
Then it turns out that the embryo was NOT donated and in fact came from 2 people who each had children related to the child in question.
So they bowed out while the woman who wanted the child had a court case and she won much to the dismay of her ex husband who was so adamant in not wanting anything to do with the child, it was depressing.
So that was quite a frustrating contraversy.
